Untitled Document I’ve been known to call it like I see it. I talk way too much about my Maltese. I adore handwritten letters. I watch horror movies and listen to music that makes my grandmother proud. I fantasize about winter cottages. I hate that dream where I’m running from something and I’m in slow motion. I believe in God. I eat lots of kale. I run, spin, lift weights, and like to climb things. Oh, and I LOVE my country.

Media: Got Integrity?

on January 10th, 2011

January 8 marked a terrible tragedy in Tucson, Arizona. Twenty-two-year-old Jared Loughner, whose incoherent, rambling YouTube clips indicate serious psychological problems, opened fire at a “Congress on Your Corner” event, killing six and injuring fourteen. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was among those seriously injured. The immediate reaction by many was to pray – to put their [...]

Principles over Party

on November 12th, 2010

Governor Chris Christie—who has commendably been a defender of fiscal responsibility in New Jersey—recently declared, “I think Delaware was a missed opportunity to have a really good U.S. Senator,” affirming that he was proud to have endorsed Mike Castle. Former George W. Bush speechwriter Michael Gerson wrote in The Washington Post that unlike Christine O’Donnell [...]

Q & A with Jedediah: Election Special!

on November 2nd, 2010

Do you think the winners, as well as the losers, will recognize this election for what it is – a restraining order? – Joe, New York I hope elected Republicans realize that Americans expect them to reject a big-government agenda, and to represent the antithesis of what tax-and-spend Obama allies have championed. I don’t have [...]

Crunch Time: 2010 Elections

on October 26th, 2010

It’s crunch time, folks! Just one week remains until conservatives cast votes for a new wave of leaders they hope will halt Obama’s tax-and-spend agenda, restore a commitment to our Constitution, protect states’ rights, and shake up the Washington machine. According to a new POLITICO/George Washington University Battleground Poll, “Republicans hold a 14-point edge among [...]

Battling Political Elitism with Rush Limbaugh

on October 8th, 2010

Rush Limbaugh routinely hits home runs when battling the Left’s intolerance, hypocrisy, and tax-and-spend agenda. But on October 1, he hit a grand slam against what’s eating away at the conservative movement right in our own backyard—political elitism. Rush addressed his monologue “to those of you who are embarrassed of Sarah Palin and Christine O’Donnell [...]

Challenging the GOP Establishment

on September 8th, 2010

What do Marco Rubio, Sarah Palin, and Joe Miller have in common? One:  They’re principled conservatives. Two: They aren’t part of Washington’s business-as-usual machine. And three: They – and many like them – have caused quite a few in the GOP establishment to shake in their boots. The National Republican Senatorial Committee has backed RINOs [...]

GOP Women Pave the Way for Big 2010 and 2012 Republican Gains

on June 28th, 2010

As I exited a small café in Massachusetts on a recent weekend getaway, two women were standing outside holding signs that read Stop the anti-woman GOP women. (They were not far from another female wearing a poster that read Death penalty for Bush/Cheney, among other delightful messages of liberal tolerance. But I digress.) I casually [...]

EMILY’s List Targets Palin, Bachmann

on June 20th, 2010

My mother recently received some interesting mail. Upon opening it, she quickly enjoyed a hearty laugh. Dad soon stuck it in an envelope and sent it my way. So, what summer gift did the Bilas receive in the mail this year? A request for donations from EMILY’s List. We’ll get to the accompanying letter soon [...]
