Untitled Document I’ve been known to call it like I see it. I talk way too much about my Maltese. I adore handwritten letters. I watch horror movies and listen to music that makes my grandmother proud. I fantasize about winter cottages. I hate that dream where I’m running from something and I’m in slow motion. I believe in God. I eat lots of kale. I run, spin, lift weights, and like to climb things. Oh, and I LOVE my country.

No Time to Waste

on March 11th, 2011

It is abundantly clear to so many of us that we have an enormous problem in this country right now—the policies being advocated by President Obama and the Democratic leadership.  However, we also have a substantial problem on the Right—a refusal by GOP leaders to stand up for strict fiscal discipline and a hesitance on [...]

On Compromise And Obstructionism

on January 6th, 2011

The word compromise gets a lot of play in the world of political punditry. I would be a rich woman if I had a nickel for every time I heard a commentator praise acts of bipartisanship, while denouncing obstructionism. Plenty of Republicans and Democrats pledged support for Obama’s December tax deal because the President gave [...]

New Year’s Resolutions For The 112th Congress

on December 30th, 2010

It’s almost 2011. In some ways, the “hope,” “change,” and “yes we can” shenanigans of the 2008 presidential election seem like they were born just yesterday. Did Palin-endorsed mama grizzlies roar? Some most certainly did, including Pam Bondi (FL–Attorney General), Martha Roby (AL–2), Sandy Adams (FL–24), Michele Bachmann (MN–6), Vicky Hartzler (MO–4), Renee Ellmers (NC–2), Diane Black (TN–6), Susana Martinez (NM–Governor), Mary Fallin (OK–Governor), Nikki Haley (SC–Governor), Beth Chapman (AL–Secretary of State), and Kelly Ayotte (NH–Senate). Others suffered losses, including Christine [...]

Media Still Afflicted with Palin-OCD

on May 24th, 2010

Well folks, some in the media are still afflicted with Palin-OCD. Bill Maher took a dig at Rand Paul during a monologue on the May 21 episode of “Real Time.” He couldn’t help but bring Sarah Palin into the mix by stating, “It’s as if Sarah Palin somehow made it through medical school.” Hey Bill, [...]
