Untitled Document I’ve been known to call it like I see it. I talk way too much about my Maltese. I adore handwritten letters. I watch horror movies and listen to music that makes my grandmother proud. I fantasize about winter cottages. I hate that dream where I’m running from something and I’m in slow motion. I believe in God. I eat lots of kale. I run, spin, lift weights, and like to climb things. Oh, and I LOVE my country.

Rest in Peace, Andrew Breitbart

on March 1st, 2012

Today the conservative movement mourns the loss of a man who was fearless in his defense of the Tea Party, fearless in his critique of mainstream media deceit, fearless in his defense of Sarah Palin, and fearless in his passion for exposing left-wing hypocrisy wherever he encountered it. Founder of Breitbart.com, Big Government, Big Hollywood, [...]

Top 5 Things Learned at CPAC

on February 13th, 2012

I spent last Friday and Saturday in DC at CPAC, the Conservative Political Action Conference. It was a blast. I spent quite a bit of time at the AMAC booth, did some fun radio and online spots, listened to a few fabulous speeches, introduced a screening of The Undefeated, and got to meet many wonderful [...]

Keep the Music Playing

on December 30th, 2011

I remember the first time music changed the way I saw the world. I was sixteen years old and had just watched someone I’d known almost all of my life transform before my eyes in the worst possible way. She was unrecognizable, unreachable, and destined for a path where loyalty, honesty, and everything I valued [...]

Top 5 Christmas Gifts for Liberals

on December 21st, 2011

Well, folks, it’s that time of year again. Trees are being trimmed, carols are being sung, children are excitedly awaiting Santa, and I’m avoiding the kitchen so as not to turn a delicious meal into something indigestible. In the spirit of all things festive, I bring you my “Top 5 Christmas Gifts for Liberals”: 5. [...]

Full Speed Ahead

on November 22nd, 2011

“The system is so broken and I don’t see anyone who I think will actually fix it,” a retired friend of the family said to me this past weekend. “I’m staying out of it this election season.” I have heard that sentiment expressed more times than I can count these past few months. Activists who [...]

Potential 2012ers, There’s Still Time

on October 5th, 2011

I can’t seem to turn on the television these days without hearing some pundit, “expert,” former adviser to whomever, or analyst insist that it’s too late for potential 2012ers to enter the presidential race—or that they’re harming the party with their indecision. You know what’s harming the party? Pundits who have elected themselves 2012 timetable [...]

For All the Moms and Dads Out There

on October 3rd, 2011

I remember the first time I really understood the value of my mother’s advice. I was thirteen years old, standing in the hallway of my school, about to give a class presentation before a teacher who wasn’t all that fond of me. I had politely declined that particular teacher’s invite to join a school club [...]

Lessons Learned from Dating Liberals

on September 9th, 2011

I have never been a liberal. In fact, my parents and I often joke that I popped out of the womb as a Reagan conservative. As a result, I don’t have a fascinating liberal-turned-conservative convert story to share with you. I also can’t tell you what it’s like to be inside the head of a [...]

Manhattan Lefties Talk Palin

on August 2nd, 2011

Last week I attended a cocktail party on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. It’s an unfortunate part of life every now and then for this prefer-a-basketball-game-and-soft-pretzel New Yorker. With that being said, any opportunity to mingle with members of New York City’s left-wing elite serves to provide both a wealth of amusement and—quite often—column-worthy entertainment. This [...]

My impressions from the Iowa premiere of ‘The Undefeated’

on July 1st, 2011

On Tuesday I attended the premiere of Stephen Bannon’s “The Undefeated” in Pella, Iowa. I had provided introductory comments before a prior screening of the film in New York City, and had seen a rough cut a few weeks before that. The final product is outstanding. And my experience in Iowa left me with several [...]
