Untitled Document I’ve been known to call it like I see it. I talk way too much about my Maltese. I adore handwritten letters. I watch horror movies and listen to music that makes my grandmother proud. I fantasize about winter cottages. I hate that dream where I’m running from something and I’m in slow motion. I believe in God. I eat lots of kale. I run, spin, lift weights, and like to climb things. Oh, and I LOVE my country.

What do you think will be the most important issues for 2012 GOP candidates to tackle? – Alan K. Bringing down the unemployment rate and advocating pro-growth economic policies will be a top priority. Putting America on a real path toward energy independence is critical. Our debt is horrifying. As revealed by The Foundry this [...]

Q & A with Jedediah: March 2011 Edition

on March 25th, 2011

What do you think are President Obama’s biggest strength and biggest weakness? – Amy H. His biggest strength is his ability to disguise his record with his rhetoric. Many in the GOP typically make that job easier for him by not challenging the prominent distinction between the two. His biggest weakness is his big-government, deficit-ballooning [...]

Sarah Palin Makes a Splash on Long Island

on February 21st, 2011

She was relaxed, but spunky.  She was real.  She was armed with stats.  She was unapologetic about her convictions.  She was tough on President Obama’s agenda.  She was fed up with the status quo.  She was “sick and tired of the games that are being played in Washington, D.C., because we’re talking about our money, [...]

Q & A with Jedediah: The Conservative Platform, Pelosi, and “Liberal Overload”

on May 18th, 2010

While all conservatives feel the overwhelming desire to remove the liberals/socialists/progressives from Congress and the White House, what are your views on proactive positions (What do we stand FOR)? I agree with strong foreign policy, border security, and reduction in the size of government, but what are your thoughts on the full platform?—Greg; Alpharetta, GA [...]

Q & A with Jedediah: The Conservative Imagination, Education, and National Security

on May 10th, 2010

William F. Buckley, Jr., Russell Kirk, and Irving Kristol, among others, were foremost in manifesting the conservative imagination in the 20th century, which coalesced in the fortuitous Reagan conservative coalition. Who do you see emerging as the intellectual avant-garde of the 21st century conservative imagination? (One rider: Your list cannot include best-selling authors, because they [...]

Terrorist Trials: Phase Two

on February 3rd, 2010

Reports that New York City has become an increasingly unpopular and unlikely location for the trial of terrorist Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his cohorts have caused many New Yorkers and Americans at large to breathe a sigh of relief.  However, it’s no time to sit back, relax, and divert your gaze.  The New York Daily [...]

Merry Christmas: Tribute to Our Troops

on December 25th, 2009

I would like to wish our brave men and women in uniform a safe, healthy Christmas.  There is never a day that goes by that I am not in awe of your courage, commitment, and selflessness.  I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you do to keep America safe, strong, [...]

History’s Lessons

on December 16th, 2009

The leading self-destructive reality in America today is not the sense of entitlement characteristic of recent generations.  It is not the fear and dishonesty bred into our voices due to the rise of political correctness and its demand that we abandon the truth in favor of a more “acceptable” outlook. It is our forgetfulness. We [...]

President Obama’s West Point Address

on December 3rd, 2009

America’s always poised, often apologetic, occasionally patriotic President took the West Point stage on December 1, 2009 and delivered what I would depict as a vague, selectively motivating discourse that fell just short—by about fifty miles—of Reaganesque.  Infused with numerous comparisons to Iraq, from the “rifts between America and much of the world” he claims [...]
