Untitled Document I’ve been known to call it like I see it. I talk way too much about my Maltese. I adore handwritten letters. I watch horror movies and listen to music that makes my grandmother proud. I fantasize about winter cottages. I hate that dream where I’m running from something and I’m in slow motion. I believe in God. I eat lots of kale. I run, spin, lift weights, and like to climb things. Oh, and I LOVE my country.

Top 5 Christmas Gifts for Liberals

on December 21st, 2011

Well, folks, it’s that time of year again. Trees are being trimmed, carols are being sung, children are excitedly awaiting Santa, and I’m avoiding the kitchen so as not to turn a delicious meal into something indigestible. In the spirit of all things festive, I bring you my “Top 5 Christmas Gifts for Liberals”: 5. [...]

Lessons Learned from Dating Liberals

on September 9th, 2011

I have never been a liberal. In fact, my parents and I often joke that I popped out of the womb as a Reagan conservative. As a result, I don’t have a fascinating liberal-turned-conservative convert story to share with you. I also can’t tell you what it’s like to be inside the head of a [...]

Q & A with Jedediah: March 2011 Edition

on March 25th, 2011

What do you think are President Obama’s biggest strength and biggest weakness? – Amy H. His biggest strength is his ability to disguise his record with his rhetoric. Many in the GOP typically make that job easier for him by not challenging the prominent distinction between the two. His biggest weakness is his big-government, deficit-ballooning [...]

Why Sarah Palin Drives Them Wild

on January 20th, 2011

I wonder how many television hosts and “journalists” tuned in to Sarah Palin’s interview on “Hannity” this week, waiting with bated breath for her to say something they could try to distort. And the more she says “this isn’t about me,” the more they make it about her. Let’s enter the world of Sarah Palin [...]

It’s that joyous time of the year again. The chestnuts are roasting, the tree is tinseled and lit, and you’re trying to figure out how to seat 10 people at a dining room table made for seven. Q & A with Jedediah: Ground Zero Mosque, Captain Redistribution, and Lupica Hilarity

on August 31st, 2010

I heard you speak briefly about the Ground Zero Mosque on Hannity’s Great American Panel. What’s your full take as a New Yorker? – James; Florida I oppose the Park51 Islamic center for three main reasons: 1) The proximity of the proposed location to Ground Zero, a mere 560 feet away. Out of sensitivity to [...]

Q & A with Jedediah: My Questions, Your Answers

on June 23rd, 2010

This week, I decided to mix things up a bit. Although I love my typical Q & A columns because they afford me the chance to address questions from my readers, I wanted to hear more from them. In other words, I wanted this column to center around their opinions, not mine. So, I decided [...]

America’s Unpresidential President

on June 11th, 2010

He’s just so darn presidential. You better know who I’m talking about . . . because if you don’t, I know whose ass to kick. In a recent interview with NBC’s “Today” show, President Obama said this: “I don’t sit around talking to experts because this is a college seminar. We talk to these folks [...]
