Untitled Document I’ve been known to call it like I see it. I talk way too much about my Maltese. I adore handwritten letters. I watch horror movies and listen to music that makes my grandmother proud. I fantasize about winter cottages. I hate that dream where I’m running from something and I’m in slow motion. I believe in God. I eat lots of kale. I run, spin, lift weights, and like to climb things. Oh, and I LOVE my country.

Academia and Young Men: The Interview Some ‘Feminists’ Won’t Want You To Read

on April 30th, 2012

In the current political climate, the topic of “women’s issues” makes daily headlines and is regularly featured as a priority on television and radio. But what about men? In the face of some alarming statistics with respect to male enrollments in college and male suicide rates, I was left wondering—why is this happening and what’s [...]

Occupy Movement Targets America’s Youth

on April 16th, 2012

Having recently interviewed Stephen K. Bannon about his upcoming film, Occupy Unmasked, I found myself somewhat immersed in the literature of the Occupy movement. Years of working in education—as a teacher, Dean, and Student Adviser—instilled in me a heightened interest in academia, and I couldn’t help but be drawn to a column titled “Step 1: [...]

Mark Levin’s ‘Ameritopia’ Reminds Us What’s Worth Fighting For

on January 16th, 2012

Many of us often use the phrase. “It’s time to get this country back on track.” That’s most definitely true. However, in order to be fully committed to that task, it is essential that we understand the depth of what we’re rallying against and what the manifestation of the antithesis of Americanism really looks like. [...]

Keep the Music Playing

on December 30th, 2011

I remember the first time music changed the way I saw the world. I was sixteen years old and had just watched someone I’d known almost all of my life transform before my eyes in the worst possible way. She was unrecognizable, unreachable, and destined for a path where loyalty, honesty, and everything I valued [...]

Top 5 Christmas Gifts for Liberals

on December 21st, 2011

Well, folks, it’s that time of year again. Trees are being trimmed, carols are being sung, children are excitedly awaiting Santa, and I’m avoiding the kitchen so as not to turn a delicious meal into something indigestible. In the spirit of all things festive, I bring you my “Top 5 Christmas Gifts for Liberals”: 5. [...]

Full Speed Ahead

on November 22nd, 2011

“The system is so broken and I don’t see anyone who I think will actually fix it,” a retired friend of the family said to me this past weekend. “I’m staying out of it this election season.” I have heard that sentiment expressed more times than I can count these past few months. Activists who [...]

Delivery Matters in the Race to the White House

on November 14th, 2011

It is no secret that GOP presidential candidate Rick Perry, a successful three-term Texas governor, has struggled a bit overall in the GOP debates. Although he had what I consider his strongest debate performance Saturday night at the CBS News/National Journal debate, Perry has generally had some difficulty articulating his vision and admitted that he [...]

Q & A with Jedediah: Cain, GOP Debates, 2012 and Moving Forward

on November 1st, 2011

What do you make of the Politico story about the sexual harassment allegations against Herman Cain? – Rose D. I’m not a fan of anonymously-sourced columns of that nature. I wasn’t a fan of it when it was done repeatedly to Palin, I’m not a fan of it with respect to Cain, and I wouldn’t [...]

For All the Moms and Dads Out There

on October 3rd, 2011

I remember the first time I really understood the value of my mother’s advice. I was thirteen years old, standing in the hallway of my school, about to give a class presentation before a teacher who wasn’t all that fond of me. I had politely declined that particular teacher’s invite to join a school club [...]

Lessons Learned from Dating Liberals

on September 9th, 2011

I have never been a liberal. In fact, my parents and I often joke that I popped out of the womb as a Reagan conservative. As a result, I don’t have a fascinating liberal-turned-conservative convert story to share with you. I also can’t tell you what it’s like to be inside the head of a [...]
