Untitled Document I’ve been known to call it like I see it. I talk way too much about my Maltese. I adore handwritten letters. I watch horror movies and listen to music that makes my grandmother proud. I fantasize about winter cottages. I hate that dream where I’m running from something and I’m in slow motion. I believe in God. I eat lots of kale. I run, spin, lift weights, and like to climb things. Oh, and I LOVE my country.

Q & A with Jedediah: February 2011 Edition

on February 18th, 2011

Is Obama serious with this budget? – Greg A. What’s the matter, Greg? You’re not excited about adding roughly $13 trillion to our debt and at least $1.5 trillion in tax increases over the next ten years? You’re not psyched about a spending freeze that would lock in the President’s heightened spending levels from the [...]

How to Avoid the Left Ruining Your Valentine’s Day

on February 11th, 2011

It’s that time of the year again—chocolate hearts, flowers, mushy cards, and romantic dinners are the talk of the town.  That’s right, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner.  And rather than write you a love letter—I’m really more of a boot camp/horror film kind of girl—I’ve decided to offer some advice on how to [...]

Principles over Party

on November 12th, 2010

Governor Chris Christie—who has commendably been a defender of fiscal responsibility in New Jersey—recently declared, “I think Delaware was a missed opportunity to have a really good U.S. Senator,” affirming that he was proud to have endorsed Mike Castle. Former George W. Bush speechwriter Michael Gerson wrote in The Washington Post that unlike Christine O’Donnell [...]

Leftist Mama Grizzlies Attack Palin

on August 20th, 2010

EMILY’s List, a self-proclaimed “community of progressive Americans dedicated to electing pro-choice Democratic women to every level of office,” has launched its latest scheme against Sarah Palin’s “Mama Grizzlies” outreach. If you haven’t checked out the video, you must. It’s downright hysterical. And not just because of the bear costumes and growling. Some of the [...]

The “Tolerant” Intolerant Left

on July 27th, 2010

Merriam-Webster defines tolerance as “sympathy or indulgence for beliefs or practices differing from or conflicting with one’s own.” Dictionary.com defines it as “a fair, objective, and permissive attitude toward those whose opinions, practices, race, religion, nationality, etc., differ from one’s own.” And America’s Left defines it as compassion for those they agree with, coupled with [...]

Kindergarteners to Talk “Nipples” in Helena Public Schools

on July 20th, 2010

When I was a little girl, my now ninety-six-year-old grandmother used to say that when she was in school, it was all about “reading, writing, and arithmetic.” Times, of course, have changed. Our youth can now delve into more fascinating material – particularly with respect to technology – than my grandmother and her friends could [...]

Couric Fawns over Far-Left “Feminists”

on July 5th, 2010

Katie Couric recently interviewed far-left feminist darling Gloria Steinem and the president of the left-wing Women’s Media Center, Jehmu Greene, for a @katiecouric segment titled “A Woman’s World?” Before I begin, let’s take a moment to appreciate the diversity of thought Couric chose for her panel: two liberal, pro-abortion, conservative-bashing “feminists.” Now, don’t make any [...]

EMILY’s List Targets Palin, Bachmann

on June 20th, 2010

My mother recently received some interesting mail. Upon opening it, she quickly enjoyed a hearty laugh. Dad soon stuck it in an envelope and sent it my way. So, what summer gift did the Bilas receive in the mail this year? A request for donations from EMILY’s List. We’ll get to the accompanying letter soon [...]

In reply to Jessica Valenti’s “The fake feminism of Sarah Palin”

on June 4th, 2010

Feminism is about a lot more than one’s stand on abortion. It shouldn’t be a single-issue movement or a tribute to collectivism. However, the feminist Left in America has decided that marginalizing a whole segment of the female population because they’re pro-life conservatives is what it’s all about these days. This issue is far bigger [...]

Media Still Afflicted with Palin-OCD

on May 24th, 2010

Well folks, some in the media are still afflicted with Palin-OCD. Bill Maher took a dig at Rand Paul during a monologue on the May 21 episode of “Real Time.” He couldn’t help but bring Sarah Palin into the mix by stating, “It’s as if Sarah Palin somehow made it through medical school.” Hey Bill, [...]
